The fourth jet was shot down
Norad knew at 8:22 the hijackings started - they were airborne at 8:40. They could have easily nailed the 2nd and 3rd jet - but they didn't. After that they had no choice but to shoot down the 4th jet.
Not shooting the second jet was a judgement call. Not shooting down the Pentagon jet was stupidity. They weren't going to make that mistake on the fourth jet.
Langley could have easily taken out the Pentagon jet ------> By 9:03 NORAD knew there were two targets hit. |
NORAD should have scrambled at 8:22. <---
<-------- Otis could have intercepted 2nd airliner. Their planes were in the air and they had 20 minutes |
